Kharas o Morn Sigil

Kharas Duathir:
Called the Shadowlord, he is Chieftain of Morn Sigil, and the welfare of his small Clan is his constant concern. Soft-spoken, courteous, extremely stubborn, at times over-formal, he keeps to a rigid code of Honor that was considered archaic even among the Elves of a thousand years ago. Sorrow, pain, and regret have left their mark on him; his eyes, black as starless space, often seem haunted by dark memories. Yet he is capable of laughter, and cherishes love and simple pleasures all the more because they seem so fragile to him.

He is highly skilled in the use of all weapons; the broadsword is his preferred choice, either with shield or with shortsword. In the ways of magick he is a novice, having never wished to learn it until the necessity to do so was forced upon him by circumstances beyond his control. Also as a result of those circumstances, his natural resistance to magick is slight, and he has been very susceptible to the "Limbo sickness", a systemic reaction to the forces that suffuse V'soul's home.

The weavers bestowed upon him the powers of Air, but inadvertently caused his spirit to bind too closely to the essence of the death-warrior before it was banished. Thus he has retained some of the wraith-abilities he formerly possessed, but he uses them at his peril. All too easily, the gentle Elvenlord becomes the cold slayer, fierce and pitiless... it is a transformation he devoutly does not wish, even when it is to his advantage.

His beloved soul-twin Crist-Erui is often the only one who stands between him and that darkness: self and brother both, innocent and wild, mighty with the Earth-power, he is the light of Duathir's heart... the other half of the Shadowlord's torn soul.


Innate abilities:

~Shadow-walk.
~Become incorporeal (wraith-form).
~Call or banish wind, rain, fog.
~Summon and control air elementals.
~Communicate with sentient beings of the air, shadow, or etheric using mindspeak.
~While in wraith-form, use the Dark Touch, a blast of supernatural freezing cold.


Magick items:

Rune of Returning: a gem that transports the wearer and whatever he holds to V'soul's Castle, or from V'soul's Castle to anywhere on the Prime Material Plane. (always worn)

Ring of Unbinding: a silver arm-band given to him by the Drow Priestess Zhaunil, that prevents any binding-spell from taking hold upon the wearer. (always worn)

The Gauntlets of crYme: gauntlets of mithril and gems, that confer immunity to all forms of fire, bestow the power of Fire Touch, can be made to generate an anti-magick sphere, enhance natural healing, and stem the progression of poisons.

The Crown of Focus: a crown of silver and diamonds, which enhances concentration and psychic communication, and prevents all forms of mental intrusion.
