Velanna is a young human woman who was raised as
a Nadrak slave in that faraway kingdom. It is immediately
apparent that a Nadrak slave is very different from a Gorean
slave. Velanna walks with self-confidence, challenging every
male with each step. Her green/gold eyes survey a room as if
she is accustomed to owning everything she sees. Her weapons
belt contains a variety of blades, pouches, and animal
bladders.
Her current owner is the
mysterious ranger and healer, Siege. She manages the business
side of Siege's Healing Shop inside a living tree, manages the
kitchen and cooking, tends patients in the absence of a healer, and
studies healing and herbs from Siege and Mach'in Rose, another
healer.
Velanna keeps her
intercontinental trade network active through a continuation of the
armament business with the ogre Gore and her former owner Nenia
Argentile as partners. They sell weapons and armor that Gore
forges, specializing in magical items as well as talismans, potions,
and scrolls.
The Great Mother
chose Velanna to do justice in the realm. The Goddess did not
leave her much choice in the matter; Velanna had been targeted
as a victim by the Evil One possessing Dorlan Graylor. Isn't
that the way of dieties? The Great Mother gave Velanna a
sword inscribed with the young woman's name, and her training
began. Since her owner desires that she learn more about
weapons and self-defense, she justifies her time spent in training
as a way to fulfill her owner's wishes at no expense.
She buries her heart deep as she works
through her feelings for her previous owner, the beautiful demoness,
Nenia Argentile.
For a year the slave was dominated by an angel's spirit who departed her body upon her death. The Lord of Demons tortured, raped, and killed her, but Siege somehow restored her perfected body and her human spirit.
