They enter the Inn hand in hand, smiling at the other patrons
as they take their usual seats, at there usual table, at their usual time.
Drawn only to one another, their chit chat light and carefree, as they

The woman's blue eyes widen as she grips the Man's hand tightly
"Did You hear that?"
He looks concerned but replies
"No My dear, I heard nothing. What is it that frightened you so?"
She calms slightly, and leans over to whisper, her delicate fingers
still entwined in His......
"Nothing" she sighs "It must have been the rats below"
she pauses......"Yes, the rats...below"
Behind the man, she suddenly stands
her eyes as black as coal
she cocks her head, with a deadly grin
as claws reach for his soul
The woman falls back in horror, as her chair clammers to the floor,
she scrambles backwards screaming, as His blood flows out the door.....

but in the gloom, of the tavern room, the demon was the bolder......
You'll never know she's coming,
You might never see her face,
You'll never hear her nearing,
As down the walls she'll race......
Hush! Hush!
Did you hear that? The scratching on the wall?
Tilt your head and listen close,
For it's only the rats after all......
