Shylock

It was known with the first opening of her golden eyes that this Cheysuli possessed something not seen in the weakening blood for many generations. She was favored by the Old Gods and destined to have a great history within the clans.

The mark she leaves now is not one that will be sung with pride for one who had shown so much potential at an early age. Fate had an uncanny ability to offer opposing choices, all of which would affect her personal honor for the better and the worse. Coupled with an unyeilding spirit and stubborn pride, invariably, she took the wrong path. The consequences each decision brought were faced with unwaivering courage and what honor she could hold, and yet.....

The consequences did not come lightly, and although most were self-imposed for pennance, imagine what complexities developed in that journey. Perhaps others do not see through the same eyes, perhaps the Old Gods do not look down with disfavor, but it is the reflection of her own shame and determination to rebuild her shattered persona that greets the Cheysuli every morning.

If it were not for Grimm, perhaps she would have teetered into self loathing and abandoned her heritage long ago. However, in his infinite patience, the panther bonded as Shylock's lir guides the woman in her course and remains a constant companion. Though their bonding was at too early of an age, the relationship forged is unbreakable.

Grimm

He is neither lover, nor father, nor soulmate, neither brother nor friend..He is none and all and something greater still. The link between feline and femme is nothing less than magical. In his sarcastic rhetoric and playful banter, Grimm mirrors the woman, or rather, she mirrors him, trading the roles of lead and follow without pause. More often, they are as equals and share life as most would, laughing and aching, loving and fighting. The earth magic runs strong in both veins, creating deadly hunters, stealthy trackers, and creatures born in the very core of nature.

It is through both Grimm and the Old Gods that allow Shylock three gifts of the earth magic: Healing, Shapeshifting, and Compulsion. The last is rarely used..the forcing of one's will into another is not taken lightly. Not a seperate gift, but granted by the lir bond, Shylock's mind is tough to penetrate with psionics as it is imperative that the telepathic link between her and Grimm be unhindered. Above all, Shylock is mortal as most, with a lifespan of some decades, sun-bronzed skin that flays and bleeds, though natural instincts heighten things like agility, stealth, sight, hearing, awareness...
