One of a large family that has made their home in Beware; a Healer by trade. Shay was very outgoing and friendly, quick to laugh and make a joke. Until she was captured.
During her incarceration, she was used and humiliated; degraded and made dependent on a drug. The story isn't new, but the man took most of her personality and trust as well, leaving an empty shell behind. Well, not quite "leaving her behind" as a member of her family fought for her release and won.
Taking her back to the warmth of her family, she is just now beginning to come to terms with what happened and slowly climb back out of the abyss he left her in.

Now she is beginning to move about freely once more. If she is quiet, remember there is reason. But still she will help any wounded that have need of her. Her will to help others is still as strong as it's always been.

Currently in the company of David & Sareena Maverick and their children, as well as Steven Maverick. These people love her and are helping her to return to her old self. With luck, though the incident will always be a part of her, she'll be able to overcome it and forge ahead with her life.

Lately, both she and Steven have seemed to turn up at Avalon near the same times and have really begun to share with each other. Thru wagers of who will find their hearts desire first...each certain it will be the other...an easy friendship was struck. One night in a sudden storm, they were forced to seek shelter in a cave. They've been there for a few days now, learning and finding that the friendship has grown into something deeper and sweeter. Now, can she learn to trust this man that holds her heart? ...that seems to be the 5 gp question.

UPDATE: On 12/09/02 at 19:20:42 soi time, Steven Maverick took Shay as his wife at Storm's Sanctuary (strmward). The wedding was set up as a surprise by Steven's cousin, James Maverick, who gifted them with the entire ceremony and their rings. Though the wedding was quick, their life together shall be forever...if not in this life, then certainly in the next.
