Shannon Kelly Maverick

On a warm night in May, she was born of a Fiana under the light of the gibbous moon and named Shannon Fiona Kelly. Learning from her mother the way of the Pack, and finally participating in their raids, she became respected for her finesse and loved for her humor and easy nature.

One night as the full moon smiled, they returned from a rewarding raid. Still aglow, they began to celebrate with wine and song. She became inspired and let the music, moon, and nature take over. She rose and began to dance and sing, her voice so sweet and haunting...her moves so sensual and graceful...the rest of the pack moved aside to watch her. She became enthralled as she moved, giving in fully to her nature and began to change from homid to lupus to crinos and back to homid to dance the night away. Thereafter, she became "MoonDancer", a name she accepted and loved as it was bestowed upon her by her pack.





Migrating to Beware after hunters massacred the rest of the pack, alone and uncertain. Searching for others, for company if nothing else. Her howling song at night so haunting and sweet only emphasized her loneliness when there was no reply. After a time, she met one known as Canus Lupus and they became friends. But then, he was called home and she found herself alone once more.



Then one day, the sunlight seemed to burst thru the clouds. A scent reached her that brought back all that she'd been missing in her packmates. In the form of a she-wolf, she raced to the castle...a place she rarely went for all the humans there. This time was different. Lifting her muzzle again and finding the scent, she followed it to stand at the feet of a man named Jon Maverick. Still hesitant, she and Jon became acquainted and then friends, of a sort. He however, was in love and married another. His life moved on to include a family, and hers stood still as she wandered the nights alone.

More recently, while out hunting one night, a familiar scent came to the she-wolf. It called her to a new tavern in Fiodor. Changing to homid form and stepping inside, her world went into a whirl as she saw him sitting there once more...it was Jon Maverick. Going to him then and there, and taking a seat to listen and share; finding out that his wife had died and left him with their twins; just getting re-acquainted. She helped him home to sleep off the drink after that and since then, they've seldom strayed far from each other.

UPDATE: Thanks to James Maverick, Jon gave her a beautiful engagement ring for Christmas. There is a large diamond in the center surrounded by gems of different hues. Jon and Shannon are engaged to be married sometime soon. Jon, Chris and Dannii seem thrilled to have Shannon be a part of their family, and Shannon will never be alone again. The loves of her life are all in this house that has become her home.

NEWSFLASH: On July 12, Jon and Shannon were wed in a surprise wedding ceremony (well, a surprise for Shannon anyway) at the old barracks by a cleric of Pelor. Shannon carries Jon's child, which will be born soon. The ceremony was very special in that the twins, Chris and Dannii, threw flower petals over us after the wedding during our first kiss as man and wife. And when we arrived back home, it was to a surprise for both of us. It seems the family has been busy NOT knowing about this secret ceremony. Shadowcat(aka Sareena Maverick), Shay Maverick and Cat Omega made the food and decorations and David, Steven, & James Maverick made up a new sign for our bedroom door. It is a dream come true to find ones own soul mate and to be accepted by his pack...errr...family I mean...sight unseen. I am truly blessed and there will never be a dull moment in this family.
