Rachel "Angel" Corsella was born over one hundred and thirty years ago in a small town in the south of England. Married At the age of sixteen to a young baron she had a daughter a year later, Jessica.
Aged twenty-two, she and her husband were out one evening they were attacked by a group of vampires. The baron was killed and she was turned into a vampire herself but left for dead. Taken in by a kind-hearted family she was able to control her bloodlust and was taught to use her powers to help people.

After eighty years she was killed while helping defend a village from raiders. One of the villagers revived her but the side affect is that some memories are lost when revived. One of the ones she lost was her name. Ten years later she joined the Peace Keepers and went for officer training. Only one other officer cadet would trust her and talk to her, Cadet Steven Charmers. Seeing as she still couldn't remember her name, Cadet Charmers gave her a name after seeing how kind she was, especially to animals (one of which, a raven she named Quoth, stays with her) and called her Angel.

Serving with distinction in the Tranker war, she reached the rank of Captain. When the war finished she was assigned to Beware as part of the Diamond Backs unit. After recruiting a young Lieutenant named Katiraye@soi, her memory of her name was recovered after David Maverick helped Sarah Williams and gave her sanctuary in Angel's office at the barracks. Lieutenant Katiraye was taking care of Sarah Williams' child Miri and asked Angel to hold her, which triggered the memory of her name, and her own child Jessica.
