"Ssshh, Lus...the time has come, get up." The voice which answered was almost angelic like in texture, carrying about the room as the scent of candles would. The voice belonged to Riavich Nacht, a Kindred which has now drifted long into legend. Carrying a soothing grace, with a piercing green gaze, his head adorned with loose crimson curls, everyone was almost instantly attracted to him.
And the young man which lay naked on the bed, sheets tangled about his thin body was Lusciane, looking no older than a frail boy of 15. He looked up, bewildered, pushing shaggy black hair back from his eyes so he could see better.
"The time has come for what? What's burning, Ria? Why do I smell a fire?"
The elder strode towards the curtains and throw them open with one, smooth movement, the high windows revealing a scene straight from hell, where every single thing was burning. "They're revolting, Lusciane..." and at that moment, he turned to look towards the young thing still sprawled out, bewildered on the bed, a little glint of something in his deep green eyes, "they've decided they no longer appreciate the presence of the Kindreds in their land and so..." turning back to the window, his motioned with a pale hand and pausing, he watched as the land continue to blaze. He lowered his voice, until it was barely above a whisper, "I feel my time is drawing to an end and you must make a decision, do you wish to die tonight as the human lover of a Kindred? Or do you want a chance at something more, somet hing potentially more wonderful than your wildest dreams?"
But poor Lusciane continued to look stun, though he managed to pull himself up to sit on the edge of the bed, "Ria..."
Growing impatient, Riavich strode over and knelt down in front of his lover, taking a hand into his and brushing his lips across the knuckles, then shaking his head, he stood again, tugging the young one to his feet, murmuring, "Come..."
Pulled to his feet, Lusciane followed behind the Kindred as he was led away from the bed and into one of the secret passages that surrounded the private chambers, the two of them now shrouded in darkness, shadows lurking about both forms like guardians.
"Lusciane, do you wish to die this night?" Kneeling again, the Kindred took the warm hand of the human in both of his, again kissing the knuckles as green eyes stared up into those of Lus.
And the question seemed simple enough, but Lusciane was only able to shake his head slowly, of course he didn't want to die, never did he want to die.
The eyes of the elder seemed to almost overflow with love and joy as he stood again, cupping his lovers face with both hands and leaning in to whisper words against his lips, "Hold still, love..." Before either could protest, the young human felt the peicing sting of fangs pushing against his neck and into the life giving vein.
Lips parted as blood started to flow from one to the other, pain melted into pleasure as it consumed his body and started to make him weak. The two of them seemed to become one without the love making, but the ecstasy was soon cut off as an arrow bit into the side of Riavich's ribs. Hissing with pain, the Kindred was forced to draw back, his task only half completed, half of Lusciane's blood drained from his body, droplets falling gracefully from the glistening fangs. Glancing off to the right, fire was starting to consume the passageway, devouring those protective shadows that lingered near by. And to the left, stood a figure, from which the arrow was shot. Riavich could tell by the limp feel of his lover's body that Lus< font color=8B9E9E>c
iane was losing life fast, caught between state of the dead and the living."Lusciane...no..." ignoring the arrow in his side and the approaching danger that surrounded the two of them, he curled an arm around Lus' waist, the both of them lowering down to their knees. Half finished, would it work if One was only half drained? But he would die otherwise...
Biting into his own wrist, he shifted to hold the flowing blood to Lusciane's lips and waited, which seemed like an eternity before the nearly dead lips started to respond and started suckling on the spilling blood. But there was no time, even to finish the feeding as more figures were starting to appear and approach dangerously. However, it was enough to change Lusciane forever and satisfied his lover wasn't going to die from blood loss, Riavich forced him into the shadows and away, out of danger, while he stood and turned to face those who would wish him dead...
