Growing up in a mageocracy and House Dellanith being one of the most prominent noble houses, Conlyn was pressured early to not only learn magic but be a prodigy like his father. He was trained to be a mage from the age of five, as do all nobles from his land. Though even with the best tutors he is still largely unsuccessful with the weaving of magic. His tutors believed he was unlucky and just didn't inherit his fathers aptitude with the craft.
They were wrong.
With his lack of magical talent, he
soon found that his skill was with blade. His training with the rapier
uncovered his elf-like speed and agility, possibly the legacy of a
bloodline steeped in magic.
His martial training honed the following skills: Alertness,
Balance, Blind fighting, Ride, Tumble and Quick draw.
His numerous encounters with the law honed these:
Disguise, Escape Artist, Hide, Move Silently and Sense Motive.
