She is the youngest of all the Maverick family, not counting her nephews and nieces. Born a few months after David and Steven were taken by the Administration she has only ever known her brother Jon, although she did meet David when he returned home briefly to see his family and report to Peace Keeper Command.

She is a healer with few other powers except for telepathy although unlike her brothers, she has no telekinetic powers. In spite of this she uses her telepathy along with her healing skills to find the exact point of the injury, giving her an advantage over several other healers. She is also very close to her brother Jon Maverick, who is the only sibling she has ever really known, and was the one who helped him deal with the fact he was a werewolf.

She is also a friend of Jessica Corsella, great granddaughter of Rachel "Angel" Corsella, as they trained as healers together as children. The two have been good friends for many years.

She has come to Beware to be with her family and it's newest members, Shadowcat@bwr and the twins Jason & Jessica, and Jon’s twins Chris & Dannii. 

While baby sitting Jason and Jessica, she met Andreos Omega, eldest son of Sareena Maverick from her first marriage, although Andreos had no knowledge of this fact. Speaking without thinking, Catherine told Andreos part of Sareena’s past, which lead them both to suspect the truth about Andreos’s heritage. After a chance encounter with Teela Blair, Sareena’s mother, the truth was confirmed. Cat and Andreos became close and have seldom been seen apart since. On Christmas day, Andreos asked her to marry him. She agreed quickly. Shortly afterwards, Cat discovered that she was pregnant. Although she can only sence the one mind trace, she is actually carrying twins, one is hiding the other's mind trace

Update: On the 27th of May, Cat and Andreos married, completing their union. They were married by Krishena, a Cleric who lives at the old Peace Keeper Barracks
