Cathan AesSidhe
Born to the wrong side of the sheets to a noble family
Cathan AesSidhe was not his true birth name
but it is what he answers to now
In the citie of Avallónë,
on the island of Tol Eressëa.
Being the practical man his father aknowledged him
and began his training in weapons , and the intrigues of court.
Around his 30th year (which is still very young for an elf)
His training began to change to something darker.
Now he was being trained in steath and thievery
Though often the training was cloaked in games he noticed the change.
He went to his father and asked. His father told him
that his way to serve the family would be both
more and less than could be done by a son of full blood.
Cathan accepted this and worked even harder.
His eldest brother saw this additional training as a sleight and grew jealous.
Eventually this grew to the point that Cathan was moved from the family home
to a summer home
His teacher went with him and began teaching him of pressure points
and a skill called Dim Mak as well as herbs and poisons
Those his father called Blade Dancers were also brought to teach him
At the age of 50 they sent mage tutors to Cathan , but he had little interest,
or inclination for magik. As such he learned little of it
After that he was sent as "emissary" on many tasks for the good of the family.
Always in situations where an heir would have been too at risk
or they would wish to be able to deny involvement of one of full blood
Cathan performed these tasks faithfully, accepting his place in the family
Then suddenly about his 70th year Cathan was brough back to the family home
It seemed that his brother had outgrown all of his childhood jelousy,
and Cathan was welcomed back with open arms.
He quickly fit in with the noble born of Avallónë
and gained the reputation of being a bit of a rogue.
The next winter Cathan's father died of poisoning
Cathan, of course, was accused by his older brother
Eventually Cathan was cleared after being questioned under magik
Still his brother had made known his covert activities
No one in the citie trusted him and he was in essence an outcast
His father had left him a comfortable inheritance as was due a younger son
and after several attempts on his life, most by his brother; Cathan used this
to set himeslf up in the underworld of the elven city.
He quickly earned a reputation as an assasin and his profits grew
His real reason for this was to gather information
on who killed his father. Five years passed before he was able to prove to himself
without a doubt that it was his older brother
That very night he entered the family home for his last time
He killed his older brother leaving the family in the hands of his sister.
He took a ship from Tol Eressëa to the east
travelling the lands of the middle earth ,Darkover, Fearun, Kara Tur and finally Beware
Those travels included many adventures some not told here.
Chief among them was when he met the avatar of Nerul.
In return for assasinating a demigod for the dark reaper Cathan was given
a set of 4 long daggers. Each with 18 inch blades forged by Nerul himself
The handles made from the bones demigod he slew
Had Nerul known that skill and trickery did not accomplish this
He may not have given the daggers to Cathan
Fate and luck played a far bigger role in the half elf living and the demi-god dying
but as Nerul did not know this and the death occurred without Nerul being tied to it
Cathan had no qualms taking the daggers
In Kara Tur he learned tomake his poisons resistant to magical cures.
This meant his victims had to find the mundane cure or else die.
Many of them died
On Darkover it was found he had the Alton and Hastur laran.
He learned the matrix arts and for a while was tenerezu
Now Cathan has taken up a more or less perminent residence in Beware
He has started teaching others the skills he knows,
and making many in the realm indebted to him.
He knows, as he has no family here, those will be the only vestage of such that he has.
Those who are studying under him bear his mark,
Though it is put in places not usually seen
Since comming to beware the elf has begun to feel at home
He has found an ancient place of the Valar

He traveled to the eastern realms where he briefly studied under a monk
named the mad monkey and was given an ancient dha
he knows the blade contains magik but has yet been able
