Hell-born ore was carried to the prime by the hell drake Morkeleb's summoned meteor storm. The meteors were then harvested by Aun t'lar and minions of Sel'Vae, and taken to the Underdark city of Har’ol d’lil Tanth, they were smelted by rothe workers into pure red tinted ore.

The pure hellish ore then taken to the surface and forged by an odd intelligent ogre named Gore. Forged with magic they have somehow been perfectly balanced to Aun tlar's hand, even though the ogre had never measured him in any way. Also the Ogre had enchanted the blades to never dull in the least, and never will they break.

Months later the Second Son of Sel'Vae strikes a deal with another strange surface dweller. A vampire with feathered wings and a talent for magic named Tanis. It was he and another Drow named Angellus that imbued these blades with great power. The unbreakable hellish blades team with elemental fire and were specifically enchanted to destroy the living shadows that so many seem to employ.

Able to both control hellfire and call upon it, these red tinted sabers seem to burn with an inner fire. With an edge that cuts living shadows from their source, the surface of these blades reflect darkness as other blades would light.
