But he didn't know what else to believe and this was the only story he knew. So when he was grown enough to do chores, he was sold. That first time, he hadn't stayed long, just long enough to snatch some valuables and run for his father's open arms. To which he was gladly greeted, for the loot he brought. Renshaw discovered how lucrative it was to sell the boy and have him run off with goods, and did it again. And again. Meanwhile, Arwan learned how cruel life could be, gained slave brands and whipmarks and experiences he'd rather have lived without. These shaped him just as much as the betrayals his father put him through over and over. Eventually there came a time when his father prepared to sell him again. This time, Renshaw found that even drunk out of his skull, the youth had more than enough fight in him... so instead of selling him, he accepted him into the Dozen as a full and true member. No longer a slave, and never to be again. He learned how to manage a group of thieves carefully. When the time came that Renshaw announced retirement, he was very ready to take over as leader. A perfect time, in fact, for with most of the Dozen dead at Miasma's hands, there was no one to argue the sucession. And so he began to recruit a new band. Only Blazen and Amoran Zedekiah were from the original set. To thses he hadded Keilani, Morianton Gilchrighst, Hatchet and delphi. The roster grew and the band gained infamy again. Drannes, Cypher and zendria taarinoff came, and Delany. Meanwhile, having known lust but never love, he slowly got an obsession over the girl, Miasma, who hd caused so much devistation to the band before. Finally, he decided that he had to have her, captured her and tried to keep her. A strange and stormy relationship they had before Keilani truely stole his heart from Miasma, who pined after a Warborn named Akai. Gone for long stretches of time, he failed Keilani, or so he believes, when he returned form a trip to find her dead. Murdered by a dream wearing Eliza Dane's face. Who Eliza was, he learned not long after. Meanwhile, delphi left for a Crydel prince, zen and Cypher ran of to... somewhere. Who could tell with those two and who knew the old fart Cypher was so virile? New blood came into the group. Reaver and Xenomorphix. Arwan got a new obsession, and began to court the gypsy girl Eliza. Eventually they married and, through the influence of Dark Sarah, had a son. He had been doomed to the goddess until Vin Mediros chose to take his place out of love for Eliza. Arwan's other child, another doomed creature, was to have been born by eli'shah Darkness. But the crazed ooze angel tore the fetus from herself before his eyes. The band changed again. The Prince of Thieves joined the band, holding the Island of Covenant under his thumb, and also introducing ex-nun and mute Josie Claire into its fold. The child Dimitri didn't stay long with his parents before covetous fae stole him away and named him Groac'h. He grew in the Unseelie court at an unnatural rate, and met his father just recently. Having become a man, he tries to find his place in both worlds. As Dimitri wrestled with piskies, Maedwen came into the picture. A child found on Wolf mountain by the gateboy Luke, Fask'Eln and the new recruit Rian Padrick, she was adopted and soothed Eliza's heart. Meanwhile, the battle scars and adventures could fill a book. Just ask him about a scar, and he'll have a tale. Just don't ask him about the brand on his forearm.
