Green Dragon's

Welcome to Juverna (joo VERN a),
the Territory of the Great Green Guardian, Rioghnach (ree-O-na),
and her mate... the Noble Red, pon'Nuchu (man)

Here you will find a large expanse of land thick with life and rich with color. This very area pulses with a power all its own, wild and untamed. Few travelers venture this far and the very place seems to shift and move to confuse those willing to dare into its grip. Venturing upon the territory is upon your own risk. If you brave it and explore, you will find a waterfall, old forests, grasslands and high mountains. There is also a cabin nestled somewhere deep within, perhaps you may stumble upon it.

Rio:

Having claimed a section of land as her own Rioghnach has made a home for herself on the outskirts of Beware in a forest that is warm to near swamp like conditions with a deep underground system of caves that serves as her lair.

Personality is typically solitary in nature, known to be temperamental, territorial and often aggressive. Large, think and bulky in her build for her race, built more for the land then the sky however is capable of flight when needed. Her primary weapons are the same as any dragon, using what she was born with and the breath of acid; this specialization has given her a high resistance to poisons and acid though left her with a vulnerability to heat and cold.

Capable of changing her appearance to that of a human female along with some minor abilities such as mind speech and highly developed senses for example. When posing as a human she lives in a cabin upon her territory selling earthly tonics, poisons, teas and remedies.

Rio General (Green Dragon)-

Breath Weapon: a cone of corrosive acid – poisonous gas.

Abilities: Highly resistant to acids and poisons. Water breathing, Shapechange, Suggestion (influence the actions of the target creature by suggesting a course of activity or thought), Plant command and Growth (plant creatures can understand and they perceive words and actions as well as grow, thicken, bend/move for a limited time), Mind speech/link (telepathic link that is establish with the subject’s mind) and minor magics. She can call upon the spirit of the land to aid her, something new to her since the claiming of the North stone.

A desire for privacy. The primary lairs consist of traps and alarms designed to warn of visitor and other threats. Prefering to quietly observe others that are not a threat, when forced into combat it is to attack by ambush, using stealth and surprise attacks to quickly disable their enemies, picking on creatures of any size. If the target is intriguing or seems formidable, the dragon stalks the creature to determine the best time to strike and the most appropriate tactics to use. If the target appears weak, the dragon makes its presence known quickly. If the threat prove to be too great to handle will not hesitate to retreat.

Updated Story Of The Green Dragoness June 2007 - July 2 2009

An aggressive beast, built for strength and dominance of the ground. She had the goals of taking a territory and guarding it from all others. No one was welcomed, not her kin or the friendly traveler. Everything and everyone was a threat. She wanted nothing to do with the outside world or the petty emotions and ideals those out there had. Satisfied with being alone, trusting no one and ready to fight for no reason at all. This is who and what The Green Dragoness started out as. Bitter, angry and ready to watch the human race burn for nothing more than the pleasure of it.

Time passes and as her territory became more secure she became more curious and, frankly, bored. Little by little she would venture out and interact with those outside her lands. Sometimes as a dragon and at other times in the guise of a human woman. Every day she seemed a little bit calmer. Having something to protect and maintain such as her territory grounded her in a small way... still that aggression and temper was easily provoked.

Change happened when she visited an area of the ancients, a place where old and new met, there she met a woman who forever changed her. This woman did nothing specific to her other then talk with her. This simple interaction opened a connection. The anger and hostility was put at ease. Curiosity was stirred. Time passes as it typically does and though the beast of old is forever a part of her the Green Dragoness has found a calm within her. A sort of balance within herself and it was all because of one woman. The Keeper.

One other, of her own kind also made a large impact upon her life for a reason again she does not understand. A male gold dragon who she gave the name of her brother to. There was something about him. Something about him that stilled her and caused her to open up and lower those stubborn high built barriers she had around herself. It was a strange encounter between the two for they only met a handful of times. There was a strength in him that she was drawn to. He will be forever missed and remembered....perhaps it is because she feels she will never see him again that she allows herself to feel the way she does now. Time will only tell.

As of lately the Dragoness is harder to provoke, illusive still and forever that quiet sentinel guarding and watching over what she has chosen to defend. The keeper remains very dear to her as does now a young red in which she feels a connection with. A connection much like one would have with a young playful sibling....the only one as of yet who actually was able to get her to play around like a mischievous hatchling.

Updated Story Of The Green Dragoness August 14 2009

It was over a year before the Dragoness opened herself to the claim of the ancients. Being in heat and drunk from the Keeper's Scotch, it all happened in a heartbeat as the door opened within Rio and allowed the call of the ancients to step through and center the wayward green. Rio's anger at her brother (Nashren), that sense of betrayal did not hold anymore. Softened the green and made her far more level headed under the guidance of the Northern stone. The male gold from the past, his memory.... values and goals engraved themselves deeper into her... Protect the keeper and honor the ancients.

She still has some 'animal' in her but nothing compared to what she use to be. Some of the older traits still poke through from time-to-time. She really isn't a "good" or "evil" dragon. She protects what she finds to matter to her and very few creatures or beings get past her guards to be considered important. Most everything is held at a distance and met with resistance....it is those that continue to try .....that get her attention.

One such creature was the playful red to whom she called friend and thought of as a sibling. He snuck in under and past her guards and was accepted by her. It was during his time with the ancients that he found her. Seeking her out within the realm of the mind where the essence of one's being shows truth. He found her and she found him changed. He was stronger, older, powerful and determined. He knew taking her on in the physical would have been dangerous for her pride would have overruled common sense and she would have pushed things to grave consequences. Crafty in his ways he came for her through the mind where he was strongest in the company of the ancients. Two powerful beings tested their limits and when it came down to a choice of risking her living self or pride she chose to submit to him. The Red has won his Green.

Upon his release from the realm of the ancients. With new goals, abilities and a wiser mind he once more returned to the land of Beware and his first quest was to claim the mate rights of the Green and secure his dominance over her. He conquered her mind and spirit now it was time to claim the physical. What happened that night will not be told but if you are sensitive to the DragonLink that surge of electrical energy could not be ignored. An odd pair this Green and Red and yet it seems perfect should you know them. For now Rio tends to her land that she shares with her mate, caring for it and the future it will provide for. She seems happy, content...to be where she was always meant to be.

General Info - Dragons

Dragons are inherently magical beings, and in no case should dragons be considered reptiles, despite obvious similarities such as a scaled epidermis and reproduction by laying eggs. In fact, Dragons are more akin to feline creatures than reptiles, particularly in regards to their posture and movements, as well as being inherently warm-blooded (though many have taken to sunning themselves in the morning to help warm up and even draw engery) and an eye composition similar to felines, although far more complex. A good example of this is the placement of the legs: Reptiles have their legs placed on the sides of their body, while most mammals have them placed underneath their body- dragons also tend to place their rear foot where their front foot was previously, much like most stalking feline predators.

The number of eggs laid each time depends on the race of the dragon, but is usually low (between one and ten). Dragons can also cross-breed with virtually any other creature, creating a half-dragon. The most commonly heard of are in the humanoid races, particularly with human and elves. Any combination is possible, however, even with devils or angels.

As far as senses, which varies slightly depending on species due to each one, they are superior in most ways to other creatures- like any predator, they have exceptionally acute senses, which only increase with age. Like avian creatures, they have excellent depth perception and comparingly good peripheral vision, able to see twice as well as a human in daylight- unlike avians, they have great night vision, and are able to see even when condition have no light to offer, the only drawback being that there is a lack of color in such circumstances.

Dragons can also pick up scents very well, utilizing both their sensitive nose and forked tongue, much like a snake. Their hearing is on par with human hearing, although their minds can filter what noise it hears. They are capable of "blindsense", the sense in which eyes, ears, and other senses are used to detect invisible persons or objects. Dragon taste is also refined, although they do not respond well to sweet flavors, and most dragons do not discuss the matter as to why. Of all its senses, a dragon's sense of touch is the only one to decrease throughout age, thanks mostly to the development of thick, hard scales.

All dragons are intelligent beings, and most of them exceedingly so. Dragon personality varies from dragon to dragon, but dragons of the same subrace tend to have similar mindsets.

All dragons share a common desire to collect treasure, be it precious, beautiful, magical or just shiny- indeed, the treasure in question needn't always be gold, and may sometimes be aesthetic in nature, ranging from popular artwork or sculptures or even rare books and tomes that might otherwise have an overwhelming monetary value. For evil-aligned dragons, this generally directs a greedy attitude to achieve such wealth by whatever means suit them. For good dragons this lust for treasure is tempered, although they are certainly not averse to earning such wealth, and still appreciate gifts (while being insulted if offered an obvious bribe).

Being stronger, faster, generally smarter, and possessing longer life than humans, dragons tend to consider themselves superior creatures. For good-aligned dragons, this may only mean they often consider humanoid races as children, trying to take care of them and educate them; for evil-aligned dragons, they consider humanoids as mere animals, or as toys to play with- at best, they are minions and slaves.

The longevity of dragons is evident in their often lackadaisical attitudes. Good-aligned dragons, while concerned with defeating evil, are able to see a much broader scope of the world, and although certain crises arise that may seem extremely important to good-aligned humans, their dragon counterparts are able to see the event as an unimportant hiccup that will pass in mere centuries- even those that adventure with others tend show a sense of incredible patience, even in situations where all others feel they've not a second to lose. Similarly, evil-aligned dragons that are crossed by belligerent adventurers may plot for dozens of generations before exacting revenge on the trespasser’s line- it is not uncommon for those descended from the mentioned adventurer to find themselves the target of a dragon based simply on their lineage.
